What is Exercise Physiology?

Explore our range of services designed to help you move forward with confidence

An Accredited Exercise Physiologist is a university qualified health allied professional that delivers tailored assessment, exercise plans, and supervision to improve health, mobility, and function for people with chronic disease, injury, or disability. Services include functional and cardiovascular testing, individualised exercise programs, self-management and lifestyle education, progress monitoring and adjustments, and collaboration with other health professionals for safe, effective rehabilitation and prevention.

How might exercise physiology help you?

At New Leaf Health, our Accredited Exercise Physiologists design tailored exercise programs that help you move better, feel stronger and reduce pain — whether you’re recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply want more energy for everyday life.

What we do for you

  • Personal assessment: we listen to your goals, assess movement and fitness, and build a plan around your needs and lifestyle.

  • Safe, evidence-based programs: targeted exercises improve strength, balance, endurance and flexibility while reducing symptoms from conditions such as arthritis, type 2 diabetes, back pain, heart disease and long COVID.

  • Progress that fits your life: we start where you are and progress at a pace that suits you, with home and clinic options, one-on-one sessions or guided group classes.

  • Practical tools: education, simple self-management strategies and exercises you can keep doing independently to stay well long-term.
