Exercise physiology helps manage and prevent injuries by assessing movement patterns, muscular imbalances and cardiovascular capacity to design individualised exercise programmes that restore function and reduce re-injury risk. Through targeted strength training, flexibility work and neuromuscular re-education, exercise physiologists correct faulty biomechanics and improve joint stability, while progressive loading strategies rebuild tissue tolerance safely. They also incorporate conditioning, balance and sport-specific drills to address functional demands, and educate clients on pacing, recovery and ergonomics to minimise aggravating factors. Monitoring progress with objective measures and adjusting programmes ensures safe return to activity and long-term injury prevention.
